Invest in yourself before you go investing into the world, because the world could care less if you've made any money or not.

If you are going to invest in the stock market you can get really awsome charting programs that tell you when to buy and sell and how everything works. I don't do it myself but my hubby is just getting into it. Have a look around the net and do your homework. As far as I can gather you make heaps more of shares if you buy and sell alot instead of waiting for ten years. That's where the software comes in, pretty cool stuff.

Sounds like your husband is dabbling in the futures market, can be dodgy stuff.

A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history - with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila.

I let my dad handle my investments. He know how to do that stuff. I'm clueless.

when my parents split up they put away money for me and my sister.. if i let my dad handle that it would be gone.. he said he wants to buy a block of land with it.. he he.. hes not going to though.. parents have to co-sign the money out until we are 18... there is no way in hell he is getting his hands on my money

I did not build a fortress and lock myself in, just to open up my doors when you come calling, you have to earn the key.

People who think investing can make you filthy rich by spending very little are terribly wrong. You can lose a lot of money from investing, or make very little.

Property can be a good long term investment, risky so you've got to know what your doing. But there are tons of resources out there! I was reading up about it on ezylet. If you can afford the start up/up keep costs you can make money while you rent it out to people then have a little nest egg for your old age! Sounds like a plan to me!

I think the key is to get some good cashflow coming in first. If you can find something to bring in some cash and then you can use that money to invest, your judgement will be a lot clearer. That's what I have found anyway.
