If they can pass the tests, good for them.

As to changing tests to allow more to pass - well - roles, missions, requirements are always changing and evolving.

(To some extent) Why do you need to be able to run 15 miles with an 80lb rucksack through desert heat if you're job is to sit in an air-conditioned control room piloting drones half-way across the world?

Don't the elite forces (SEALS, Rangers, IDF...etc) have a system to choose the best member for the best role?

I doubt it's a lottery on who takes what roles on what missions.
From this perspective, is it watering down the force, or is it opening the doors to a wider range of candidates? - Thereby having a better chance at success. (Right candidates in the right roles)
