soak a small piece of bread in milk. and put it over the splinter and put a bandaid or guaze on it. The soaked bread will draw it out, usually over night.

Helpful, if you can't easily grab it with tweezers

I heard a piece of banana skin cut into a square works in a similar way too. I can't remember which side you use, though. Pretty sure the outer skin and not the inner peel.
