If an intruder is in your home and coming towards you --- is that a threat, is that malice, should one run and hide and call 911, or if armed (hopefully skilled, but even if not) --- shoot to kill due to 'malice' moving towards you and yours who already invaded your home? Maybe one should just talk to him/her/them and suggest a game of chess? It could work, so could other strategies -- but not all minds are made of hardened steel.
Just processing some 'thoughts for the moment' here ... related to terrorism,
violence, standing one's ground, and right to bear arms.
I am speaking only for myself and my gun and my home .
When I think of my gun , usually when outside target practicing or while getting ready to go outside and target practice . 'every time I let off a round it's with the thought of self defense against something or one that I feel threatened by . The something is a rattle snake and the someone is a person in my home uninvited . My gun is not a toy , not a game nor a contest . It is my defense when in danger of being dead .
And I don't know how to play chess and so don't even have a chess game. Or for that matter any other kind of game . And if I'm feeling threatened , I can guarantee you with out question that if I speak to the uninvited person it's going to be lots of cussing mixed with demands that they leave now with a warning tossed about how it's going to be hazard to their health if I have to demand them again to leave. I have always thought that my first shot would be to wound and if that don't convince them to get the hell out of my house , all bets are off and my next 5 shots are anyone's guess. To hell with a warning shot . If me demanding the a*****e son of a c*** faced whore out of my house followed by my wounding them hasn't convinced them to leave I have to figure they are serious about the threat they are posing to me.
