Mosaics are the coolest thing in the art world.
Has anyone visited one of those places where they just have huge mosaics that must have taken people aaaaages to to do?
The more impressive ones are the refined ancient ones that have been in buildings such as cathedrals and old chapels for decades, even centuries. I cant get enough of how much mosaics are so fundamentally built up of tiny bits of stone or glass and can produce such fine artwork.
Personally I have found that when looking at art in a general sense; mosaics seem to have a hugely dramatic effect on how we can look at life. Maybe it is just me thinking into things too much but every little piece of stone of glass or whatever that goes into a mosaic masterpiece, to me symbolizes every day human beings. I feel that if we were to act as those little pieces and come together, we ourselves could create a beautiful masterpiece, that being the environment we live in. If people start looking at things like these in a different way I think the world could be a better place.
