I too have signed many a petition to try and stop this needless cruelty against animals! There are no suitable words in my vocabulary for the people that carry out such inhumane acts on poor defenceless animals!!

And, for what? All in the name of vanity!!

How many of you use glue traps for mice?

I hope no one doesn't... because they essentially do the same thing. Skin the animal alive because it's trying so hard to get off the super glue that it rips itself to pieces.

Yet this trap is a popular method in the US, and even perhaps in some European countries too. Where is the outcry on that? Or it it because "they're just mice" so it's OK to torture them? I don't agree with what China is doing, it is a sick and disgusting act. But some people are awfully hypocritical when they slam China's fur industry yet advocate possibly the worst trap commercially available.

Some people even throw the mouse or rat, with its injures and STILL ALIVE, into the bin to starve. An even more painful death - and the instructions on these traps actually say to do this. It is pathetic that we can put so much pressure on another country to cease barbaric acts when such acts are happening in our very own backyards, thumbs twiddling and pretending nothing bad is happening.

Please don't give the pest distinction either - animals killed in China are feral animals, pests. But that doesn't really matter - because they're living creatures and can feel pain. To advocate torture because of "pest" status is a terrible excuse. Some people seem to use that line to do bad things, as if "oh it is a pest, so it doesn't matter how it dies".

Its' disqusting and a cruel practice to kill to wear fur.... and definitely NOT warranted as we do have faux fur to wear if in a climate that needs warmth.. I believe people are ignorant, and need educating to torturing an animal of any kind.. It is greed for money, heartless and insane.. I do not buy products from China or any country or company that does such outrageous and insane practices.. Boycott is the word ..Stop buying from China.. they have also poisoned sandles with dyes that infect peoples feet.. THINK people.. just because something is cheap.. doesn't mean its worth purchasing..Buy cruel free clothes ,etc.. doesn't take much brains to do this.. STOP the insanity...

I feel that if we are to wear fur of an animal (not opposed to), we first ensure the animal is dead so there is no pain. In addition, don't take only the fur but also the meat and bones for food or whatever else. Torturing it for fun is not something I can approve of.

I'm with knowledgeispower. Kill the animal first, and do it as quickly and painlessly as possible. And find some use(s) for the rest of the carcass.

I don't object to real fur in and of itself, but I do object to poor living conditions and waste of resources. How much meat is on those? Could they be used for dog food? Bones ground up to make fertilizer? I know each one may be rather small, but considering how many animals it takes to make a single mink/ermine/rabbit coat, eventually it'll add up.

At home, we use snap traps. But I had an experience a few months back involving these glue traps. Had some mice that had to be caught and nothing but glue traps around. It was a home with a lot of children, so maybe they thought it would be easier to free a child from the glue that worry about a broken finger from a snap trap? caught 3 mice on 1 strip. This kid with cowboy boots stomped on their heads to crush them and put them out of their misery. I wasn't around for all that, but I did have to dispose of them because no one else had a stomach strong enough.

ETA: I know points are totally random, but it's annoying when a post as long as this one doesn't get anything.

We used to use glue traps and caught the mice but I felt that tossing them in the garbage wasn't right so I just put them out of their misery without peeling them off. Now, we just use snap traps. I have a very strong stomach so it doesn't bother me at all.

Watch this.

I think the last one was done more on a dare cause its trying to bite him.

Easier to deal with a non biting subject vs a biting one.
