You can watch movies on it. There are various ways to watch videos. It has a Youtube app that lets you watch Youtube videos. You can also load movies onto it from your computer, but I fear the downloading and/or encoding processes may be a bit over your head.

It has "Flash Lite" which is a bit of a different beast. It does Flash animations and stuff but not real flash video and that sort of thing.

No, your phone, the Hero, has flash lite, that's specific to your phone, HTC put that there, not Android.

Is that right? I've got lots of time to learn.

Seriously, I'll probably never watch movies on it and I don't even download them to this computer. I'll get Jason to teach me if I ever decide to snatch a movie off the Internet.

I'd been reading up on the Hero that you have and saw Sprint TV . Otherwise, I wouldn't have known anything about it.

My bad, I thought I read that the Droid had it as well.

Sprint TV is pretty much worthless.

Android is going to have Flash in 2010, in the meantime, you have a youtube app, and there is a video playback app in the Android market if you already have videos you want to watch from you SD card. So he wasn't lying, but he could have given you more information than he did.

Oh, okay. Does that mean I can download flash in a year or will I have to buy another phone? He did say I could watch YouTube. I knew he was telling the truth because I'd read about the Droid.

I found this app called TV.com by CBS that was saying they'd play full CBS and CW episodes in full for free, and I was like, "awesoome!", but it's really lame, it's almost entirely 30 clips from popular shows, and the Full Episodes section is completely empty.

I got lucky that the Sprint store closed right before I showed up. Verizon was open for another hour when I went in to look at the Droid again. I really like it so far.

No, it's coming to the Droid. I'm not even sure all Androids will get Flash since it requires special processing power that I don't think most phones have. But The Droid was built with the idea of having Flash running on it in mind. So even if I or Jonnythan don't get Flash on our Android phones, you will on your Droid.
