Basically it is looking at how Black and Asian people are turning to surgery to appear more European. They feel this will help them to get work or to feel part of society. On the other side of the coin people feel this is a bad thing to do and people should be proud of their natural appearance.

It was pretty interesting. They used Michael Jackson as the ultimate example of this. They went into skin bleaching, rhinoplasty and even one guy considered having his legs lengthened so that he would be taken seriously as a Hotel Manager.

How do you feel about this? Personally i think its awful that people feel uncomfortable in their own skin and want to go through extreme surgery to feel accepted. On the other hand, I cannot judge them if they are living in a predominantly white society and their appearance (wrongly) holds them back.

All races have a beauty of their own.

I think it's just sick. So what, you will be accepted in society, but I don't think your family would be very proud, right?

I think the surgery should be banned, because it is being racist, everyone should be proud to be their colour

And what about the children?
Bleaching your skin, and getting a nose job isn't going to change the color and complexion of your kids.

The Surgeons said they felt it was a case of "globalising" people.

Im not sure its right. I would rather they spent their money learning to be comfortable in their own skin really. But its not my place to judge, life is easy for a white girl in a white world.
