I think you need to get a grip man! This site is not only for the computer literate, It's all about having fun.
Oh I don't doubt that. However, the fun is lost if you cannot understand a post because of bad grammar and spelling, etc.

It's annoying but people will rape you for complaining about it.
 Nice way of putting it.

I have nothing against dialect. Just the incorrect spelling and bad grammar and the ridiculous excuse that it is the fault of something or someone else.

If life is so short, surely it would make more sense to get it right in the first place, thus saving valuable time explaining to people what you have written?
But I don't explain what I have written.
I let the reader take from a piece whatever message they feel like taking.

I get that this is a rant of yours and you are fully entitled to b**** about whatever it is that tickles your fancy. But really, who the hell cares? Not everyone cares enough on an internet forum to do things "properly".
What really irks me now is how many people run around here with their holier then thou (psst. that's the Shakespearean context) attitudes about how everyone needs to be perfect in their manor of typing/grammar/punctuation.
Why worry about what other people lack in when we all have plenty of our own flaws? And maybe doing things the right way, as you put it, means not caring about the minor things (like how you type on an internet forum) and concerning one's self with actually living life?

I would agree,.... why worry about it? If you have the least bit of compassion for another, you can, and often do, overlook these 'flaws.' At least, it's not as if each poster had their own 'handwriting' that would have to be interpreted.... Their lack of grammar-skills is enough of a mental test, at times.
The disturbing thing is, however, that if a poster is unknown to you, and commits these vile errors, or has such lapses in grammatical judgement, his or her postings leave a certain impression with you that doesn't really foster any feelings of compassion.

33/F/Albuquerque Area, New Mexico Join Date: Apr 2008 | I can't type for s***. It gets worse when I'm cranky, tired, drunk, excited, or typing fast. Which is probably most of the time. I also think, I have the highest ratio of edited posts cause later I see what I wrote and go "WTF? I really do know English, I swear."
I do understand, though, if I can't easily read something I usually don't bother....short of a skim.
Oh and since my typing is so bad... i can usually tell what someone meant to say... so it doesnt have to be perfect for me to read it.

In that case, I apologise for my previous post. Thankyou for explaining.

By all means, write like a goon if you wish. Just don't expect me to read something that isn't written properly.
(By "you" I mean people in general, not you personally.)

Thank you Boxer for saying you understand some people are dyslexic. I am actually dyslexic and sometimes even when people know this, they poke fun at my spelling mistakes.
I do try very hard to ensure that my spelling is correct. Sometimes though if I am not able to concentrate well, I'm tired, or typing fast, I make my mistakes.
Sometimes I have to talk to myself, saying in my head "i before e except after c."
I don't mind a type o here and there but I know that when my spelling is bad, I get embarrassed because I am smart and do know English.
Thankyou for understanding my post. My sister is also dyslexic, so I understand your situation. She also tries very hard to write properly. I think dyslexic people and a handful of people who aren't, actually do write properly.
