and if they aren't happy with the salary they dn't have to take it? Are there other criterias on the pay difference? Education etc?
The current staff doing the job are better educated than the basic entry level in the US. But the current staff are being asked to relocate all at their own expense and work for $6000 less than the new starters in the US.
In a nutshell HP don't want the Irish workers and have done nothing but put obstacles in their path from day one. The law here insists that any company relocating a job must offer that job to the person in the job and that person should not be disadvantaged in any way.
Of course the big boys in HP think they can run rough shod over the law here. Hence the wankers label.
