i was recently thinking about upgrading to windows 7, but i need to know what to do to get it.
i know i need the disks.
heres some info on my computer:
windows xp, home edition, version 2002, service pack 3,
Hewlett-Packard Pavilion, intel celeron, CPU 2.70GHz, 248 MB of RAM.
I think i need more RAM, but i dont know how much?
I also need to know the difference between upgrade version and full version?
Thanks for the help!

I would get at least 2GB of ram before getting anything beyond XP.

I really don't know if 1GB will do or not.
As far as function I don't think there will be any difference between the upgrade and full version.

2 would be good, 4 would be much better, (especially if you want 64bit version)

And If you get an upgrade that means it will upgrade to windows 7 and leave all your files intact, while the full would erease everything, and basically start from scratch

You need at least 2gb, but I think it will work with 1gb fine

But to make sure that your computer works with windows 7, you need the upgrade advisor, not the best piece of software, but nonetheless at least doable

The upgrade license requires that you have a previous version of Windows installed and the full version does not.

Also, yes, 2 GB is a good number for Windows 7. You can get away with 1, but 2 will make it run better.

Also, you may want to upgrade your processor, if possible. You can get away with the one you have, but same with the ram, a better processor would make it run better.
