I had one so terrified that he used to pee, and one who was an alpha female who adopted a fighting stance.

I've got a lovely picture in my head of dog v hoover.

The dog was a pit bull so in order to save the vacuum I'd wait till she was outside!

None of my dogs have ever liked the vacuum cleaner. I guess it's because it seems to be 'coming at them'. I've never understood why the washer and dryer doesn't scare them. Other loud noises don't bother them.

My sister-in-law's voice annoys me. I avoid her like the plague. It sounds more like she's groaning than talking.

I definitely bet on the dog, not the hoover.

when i was doing psychology i remember reading about a study where electric floor polishers were banned from maternity hospitals to see if was related to a fear of vacuum cleaners.
