I think I have finally come up with my ideal rice. Not sure if it would be considered Spanish or Mexican style so I shall just call it Rose style rice for now.
Ingredients needed:
2 cups dry rice
4 cups water
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 8 ounce can of tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Heat oil in medium pot over medium high heat. Add rice and cook thoroughly until browned. While the rice is browning, add all ingredients to water in the measuring cup. Stir well. Add slowly to rice. Stir well. Let cook over medium heat until all water has been absorbed, around 15-20 minutes. I like to serve with Rosarita whole pinto beans. Hope you enjoy.
