Not sure if this has been posted before but hey. I'm too lazy to check
As I was skimming through my Whitesnake 1987 album looking at the lyrics (As one does occasionally

)
I noticed that 'tonight' was spelt like 'tonite' I know it sounds stupid but I immediatley thought 'Hey thats spelt wrong!'
I know that it is the American version of it but I couldn't escape the feeling that it was spelt wrong.
Am I the only one who feels this way? Does anyone else in either America or the UK think that the variations are spelt 'wrong'
For example:
Color (US) /Colour (UK)
Capitol (US) /Capital (UK)
Tonite (US) /Tonight (UK)
Favorite (US) /Favourite (UK)
Have I missed any variations?
I'm American and I spell tonight as tonight. It's okay to spell it tonite, I think.
Color/Colour, Favorite/Favourite, Realize/Realise, and Apologize/Apologise are not wrong. I use the first words in those examples, but the second words are common in the UK. My spell check (Firefox) says the second words aren't spelled correctly, but that's a US/UK difference in browsers.
Capitol refers to the capitol of a US state while Capital refers to upper case letters. Capital is also a financial term. I hope this helps.
