WW2 Australia, on the beach of the Great Barrier Reef, had my left leg cut open by corral, on Kaisers cofin to San Diego the leg festered and pus oozed, the doctors worked on it to San Diego and at the base. Got worse , took train to Detroit where my mother took one look at the now festered leg which had spread to include hands -including fingers. She mixed a concoction of butter and flour to a paste and laid it on my sores using a plantain leaf over the mixture., wraped them with linen bandages and in THREE days the pus had dried up. In a week --healed! No lie!
