This is crazy!!

The Kyle and Jackie O radio show is known here in Aus as a controversial program that often steps outside the boundaries of whats acceptable.

Apparently now they have gone too far.

The link is an interview with a 14 year old girl who was hooked up to a lie detector and then asked questions about the things she had been up to by her mother.

I guess the idea was to catch her out at underage drinking and other typical teenage behaviour that was meant to be entertaining.

However it went dreadfully wrong.
As you will hear on the link.

The show has been removed from the air indefinitely and there is talk of legal action and charges to be laid against the pair also.

WTF??
I dont get how this is their responsibility at all, its the childs mothers..

Hmm, well I also listened to the 4 min. clip of that...,

I don't really think that the show's hosts did anything wrong, they were genuinely taken of guard by the admission and were quick to end it and offer any help they could for the girl as far as free counseling etc. If anything I think the mother shouldn't have put her daughter in that position. She knew of the situation that her daughter had been through, she didn't disclose that to the show's hosts and set her daughter in a position that forced that to come out.
There's plenty of show's out there that employ the use of lie detectors in order to be more edgy, to try and get a guilty admission from people in the aim of entertainment, that in itself is kind of crappy, but no one is forcing these people to take part. I don't think the aim of this radio show's hosts was to be exploitative of what this girl had gone through, they just thought it might uncover some school wrong doings, a little bit of teen age scandal that would be things that we've all been guilty of.
In my opinion they shouldn't be penalized for something that was pretty much a surprise situation that could have been avoided if only the mother had disclosed the information before hand.

I think they dealt with it quite well and it doesn't seem like the fault of the radio station or the hosts. They were very quick and kind to offer free counseling.

Thats exactly how i feel!!

Kyle is known for controversy and sometimes says innapropriate things, but this is what sells these days, he does nothing more than the next guy really.

At best, they maybe should have interviewed the girl and her mother prior to going on air to see where any boundaries may lie. But then the point of these things is to be spontaneous isnt it?

I also thought both hosts were as compassionate as they could be given the circumstances and what kind of idiot mother puts their child through such a thing without thinking of the consequences first??

If that were my child, i probably wouldnt have volunteered for the program to begin with, but if we did somehow end up in that position, sex would be the last thing i would ask a rape victim about, fool.

All the media attention has been focused purely on Kyle and Jackie O, but thats what Kyle gets for his words and actions in the past. Even if he isnt in the wrong people are going to have a go at him because he has a history off pushing the boundries.

But I agree the Mother is a disgrace, its her job to protect her daughter but she put her daughter on a national radio program and asked her about her sex life knowing full well what happened to her when she was 12.

Having said all that I still dont think Kyle and Jackie O are any where near the shock jocks that Howard Stren is in the US.

On the news this morning i learned that Kyle's been dropped from his position in Australian Idol over the scandal now also.
Channel 10 released a statement declaring that his contract has been voided as the image he has does not fit with their 'family values' after the scandal.

Oh give me a freaking break, Channel 10 has family values?
Bulls***.
And i still dont get how the radio incident is a reflection
of either host personally at all!
