I want to lose weight. Pre-baby I weighed 120. 9 months, I weighed 154. I recently gained again to be 150. My first instinct is eating disorder behavior and I know that isn't going to help. But I really want to lose in a healthy way, so...ideas? I plan on cutting back a lot on soda and eating a lot more fruits and veggies as well as exercising even more than I am already, but I'm not sure what else I could do. Help?

The best diet that I am on is the calorie control and get out and walk around or run diet.. see with this diet you can eat what you want but portion size is important and dont (for you) exceed 1700calories a day (over a week you can lose about 2 pounds) and they do say 1 hour walking a day burns about 250calories.. you will lose a lot of weight controlled over time. the secret is stick with it and be active, and portion size.. oh and learn what food contains what calories..

I have lost 28 pounds over 3 months doing the above. You will Plato after 4 months but you need then to up the activity.

You could also add exercise to your daily routine if you haven't. I have watched friends on various diets and have noticed that Weight Watchers works really well for people.

Eat frequently but only in small proportions. Because the more you hunger yourself the more you tend to eat. Try having brisk walks as an alternative to exercises in the gym. You may also want to try meditation. You'd never know what great benefits you can get from it.

Hi im a nutritionist, and having a baby of my own, i understand where your coming from

there are many things to consider when losing wieght after a baby
-thyroid (do you have hypothyroidism)
- iron levels (usually very low after birth and its important for your cells to get oxygen and for you to have enough energy to lose wieght)
- your metabolic type (this is one of the major things that trigger either wieght loss or gain)
- your immune system, if suppressed your mostly tired, and get every cold in the book

and many more other things

but in general, make sure you eat enough throughout the day 6 times (smaller meals)
drink lots of water with fiber and major points are:

-eat your deserts before dinner not after, this causes poor digestion, fermination and yeast overgrowth
- drink water before or after meals with sips inbetween , drinking large amounts of water inbetween interferes with proper digestion and causes bloating, gas, and malabsorption along with malnutrition
-eat slowly and not when stressed
-try not to eat 2 hours before bed and if you need to eat eat lightly (veg and fruit)
-stay with in a low to medium glycemic index food choices (you can find many sites about this)

well, do more exercise.. cut unwanted food and sweet stuff, take only healthy diet
