Does anyone here take Astelin?

I just started it this weekend, and I've looked at the website and read that pamphlet that comes with it, but none of that really answers my question. I apologize for this because if you're queasy, this may gross you out, so stop reading now!

As soon as I use this stuff (it's a nasal spray), I have to blow my nose. It seems to me, this might be defeating the purpose. Wouldn't I be just removing it from my system? I'm wondering if that's normal or if I'm just really clueless. I've used nasal sprays before and this is the only one I've had a problem with.

Isn't there an 800 number on the box, or an internet addy to go to to get further info?

..It would seem to me if you are blowing your nose immediately after, your body is ridding it from your system, and therefore defeaing the purpose.

I just googled it and read several of the sites, it says to blow before using and to not sneeze or blow after use. Of course if your doctor told you something different?

Maybe try, immediately after spraying in nostrils, holding your nostrils together for about 30 seconds or so, and see if that helps.

I blow my nose before, because that's what the paper said

But my nose starts running after I use it. Hm...my doctor and I may need to talk about this.

Loveis, I went to their website, and didn't see anything about one of the side effects being that it can cause a runny nose, just that many patients experience a burning sensation, which my doctor did warn me about. Maybe this'll pass once I'm taking it for a few days.

Also, do it lying down, so if it does run, it will go back into your system.
