I use twitter a little but for business I have found Linked in to be very effective.

Twitter has been great for promoting. Just make sure you targer the right people and you should have lots of success

Twitter is good and can be a very useful tool if used correctly.
I use another network called Sokule where you can post on Sokule just like twitter only when you post here it magically posts on twitter and up to 40 other social networks at the press of a button, so whatever you are saying gets out all over the net.
Sokule is new and becoming very popular and is aimed more at business users, but all are welcome to join.
