What a load of hooooey! Very few people actually showed any care and compassion to someone looking for help in rough times. It's easy to be glib, "get a job" and drop it, but some of you were downright creatively mean like this person was less worthy than you. That wasn't very nice. Here's the reality. We live in terrible times, and it is very hard to get money. Follow the Sarky's advice, because it is thorough and diverse. I would add, however, that you need to sit down and decide what you are really good at before you do it. Turn yourself into an irresistible commodity and then go out and market it. Don't be discouraged if people say no. They're just stuck in their own problems. In my company, they teach us to be like postal carriers delivering the mail. People may or may not take it, and you may have to change your tactics, but don't give up. I can't give you info about my company, but it is online and you can do very well with it if you want to.
I subscribed to this thread because I'd also like to find a way to make money. Isn't there something to do besides medical transcription? There are so many scams. One girl told me she was doing some typing but never stated what company she worked for. She said there are plenty of jobs to be had online.

Your post is very helpful and considerate. I hope you like the forum.
