SHe had 6 kids and went to the doctor for fertility treatments, meaning she wanted more kids. SHe also refused treatments that would limit the number of kids in her pregnancy to 1 or 2.

So yes, she did say "oh yes, I'll have 8 babies this time".

She didn't specifically want 8 babies....I think she was expecting more than usual, but come on? 8 kids? No one can decide to have 8 babies.... And even then, who cares? It's her life, not ours...
