You people are blinded by your own ignorance. Don't make excuses for Obama (Lili), the man is dangerous and you'll believe anything he says because of your hate for Bush. Educate yourself and stop drinking the Kool-Aid people.
Why don't you stop drinking the McCain "kool-aid"

The police are civilian.
Police officers, FBI agents, CIA operatives.. these people are all civilians.
The term "civilian police force" and "police force" are identical. Our police force is already civilian.
the accusation originally was that Obama was going to create a kind of civilian army...basically handing military style weapons to every average joe who wanted one.

I don't see how his statement could be interpreted that way.
He's saying we need to invest as much energy and money in our police as we do in our military.

I don't know, maybe by NOT spending 10 BILLION dollars a MONTH in Iraq?
Pulling out of Iraq could prove catastrophic for those of us who enjoy what little "peace" we have left in this world. think about it... We're in Iraq right now to keep terrorists at bay, and to keep them from murdering innocent people and recruiting them into their brutish plans for destruction. I don't much agree with how we're handling it, what with guns, and bombs and whatnot, but i'm appreciative at least that SOMEONE has made an effort to actually protect the country.
As for the civil police that obama has introduced, they are NOT putting money into the existing police, or even cutting funding to the current millitary. Now, the information I've gathered has made it's way through the grapevine and I'm in the process of resarching it heavily but from whati undersand here and now, is: Students in college who are not full-time will be REQUIRED to 'volunteer' for this force which will be as effective as a military and as funded as the military. What does this spell? CIVIL WAR. For YEARS I've been just sitting here waiting for some kind of uprising against the governemnt who has recently shown some socialist/communistic traits that threaten the security and the freedom we delightfuly overlook.
Pretty soon, we'll be asking for gun control, begging the government to bail us out of our own tax debt, to the point where we won't have ANYTHING without asking for it. How does that sound? I vote that we stay in Iraq for the time being, and try our hardest to do things on our own without such dependancy and childlike behavior.
And please... I'm neither a die-hard liberal or a die-hard conservative. I happen to have no party I particularly like sooo don't throw any nasty names out there. I'm only expressing what I believe, and how I think. Tossing facts, and possibly fiction, but no personal attacks. Thank you. | | | Edited: May 22, 2009 @ 20:36 | |
