I used to go to that site when I went to school. We actually earned school credit for doing it. I did it one day and got like 4000 it was pretty cool. everyone in class did it too

you don't donate anything, the sponsors (various charity's) donate the money.

its a bit of a sham really, you're not helping anything by doing the game.

you would be better to donate actual money.

the onley practical way to stop poverty is for all the country to donate 0.7%, most countrys have set that gaol for about 2012.
