I almost thought it was a rhetorical question, the answers easy enough. Money.

money is power, so to correct you... power, influence, and what many would describe as a feeling of importance.

Sometimes there is no solution because there was never a problem to begin with.

lol, why would u assume its just the right wing.

if the left is all its cracked up to be then why would they allow that scenario to unfold.

what about xerces... the persian "king" who managed to convince a race of people that he was a god. a conspiracy of this magnitude would require multiple outfits of compliance. just as i'm sure xerces high priests played along with the gag, the democrats and republicans most likely trade favors as well.

That seems to be more of an ego trip.

true enough, but without money you wouldn't e able to use any of those things very effectively, so it comes back down to money, or maybe greed.

it is an ego trip. the ego is a very powerful thing, once it gets hungry it's hard not to feed.

well thats the whole point now isnt it. the whole system is one of classes. money and positions of power allow one to have advantages and service. because of this system, a person will never have to actually work a day of their entire lives. just experience the best it has to offer. one persons scrubbing toilets while another person s**tting in them.

i could think of a million sounder alternatives, im sure anyone with a conscience could as well.

there are ways to benefit a race of people without exploiting them. there are billions of different ideas outcomes, etc. why settle for one thats not as perfect as the universe we live in.

It wouldn't really take a lot of convincing on Xerxes's part for the whole "god-king" bit. Lots of cultures have spread the word that their leader is either the one chosen by the gods or one of the gods himself. Ancient Egyptian culture is a good example of that.

the reason why it wouldnt take a lot of convincing is because from a young age people of that society were taught to think a certain way. if they had been a part of the current society, it would be a different story.

its all relative, now most of society worships fame and luxury. we've been convinced to worship a different kind of god, with the same motivation behind it. we live in ignorance why someone else enjoys the spoils. thats history. thats pyschology. thats the truth. if you can't understand it, try changing your perspective.

We live in a sick world and every weapon that has ever been invented has been used to its limit...except nuclear weapons and biological warfare....
'Thou shalt not kill'....on this point mankind has failed.

money is not an answer, its a piece of paper. the power of the governmental system enforces the value of the money by injecting ideas and beliefs into the social stimulus. It's thousands of years of trial and error since the hammurrabi code, and a reasonable design has been created.

money and the value of money is all in the mind, but the mind is often underestimated. Even gold, which has become less and less relevant with the printing of surplus curreny, can be found in the 5 oceans around the world. Trace amounts are found in seawater and a machine developed to harvest would make it as common as rice.

i'd say nuclear weapons have been used to their limit, for now at least.
hiroshima and nagasaki wasn't exactly "diplomacy". japan had made it clear to the allies that they were done. nevertheless, america has always been known to carry the big stick and most likely made a statement to the world. any further use of the bombs would have most likely prompted a free for all. used to its limit indeed, but what will the future bring?
