just changed the filter. usually change them about every 45 days because i have pets and the pet hair and dander is flying through the air. as for the evaporator, i have NO clue. it is my dads house. i am here taking care of him and so i couldn't tell you

knowing my luck...it probably would! thats usually how it works with me. live in the desert...no a/c move to the arctic heater goes out and i become a meat popcicle
