Well... Lord of the rings was mostly good for the emotional pull and special effects... which was the same reason that starwars was good in it's own time, but I'd say where I go to pick which is better would be the fact that Lord of the rings was an amazing group of books that were impossible to live up to, which left a little disapointment afterwards... besides... Hans Solo! Come on you can't lose with that! I know that everyone would be like what about Legolas... well he's nice too... but doesn't compare to Hans... like you could always count on what Legolas would do, even without reading the books, good guy through and through... but with Hans we were always surprised when he did the right thing... more three dimensional.
