The only way the pirates would know Ninjas were there is half a second before a shuriken hits them in the throat or skull, or a poison dart finds it's mark!

yeh but if it was a shuriken, then the pirate would pull it out and laugh!! alas, being a pirate provides no protection from poison..

this one time, i got bit by a tortise. it had one eye. it was a pirate tortise. i need some tortises, a small eye patch and a small gi. oh and a camera. it will be the final battle between pirates and ninjas. the bragging rights of two nations shall be put in the hands of torises. i think it is fitting.

By the time a pirate realizes there's a ninja behind him, he's got about half a second before the ninja's sword runs right through his heart!!!
