I am going to Australia at the end of the year so I could definitely go for some input. Great beaches to swim at, places to go dancing, shopping, all the other fun stuff.

I've always wanted to go to Australia. Will definitely give Australia Zoo a visit if I get to go over.

When I was in the Army I was station in Singleton,NSW. There is a town south of there, Newcastle not real small, but has great beaches and fun night life.

Yea, I don't think we are planning on scheduling anything. Just traveling around and swimming, and well lots and lots of drinking.

That depends on what you want to do. If you want to go somewhere dirty, polluted, noisy and expensive, then Sydney is definitley the place to go. (I should know I lived there for 22 years)

If boring and over rated is what you're after, then QLD is where you should go, particularly the Gold Coast. (Everyone that moves there ends up moving away from it)

But if fun, beauty and excitement are more what you're after, then you should definitely head to Victoria, any part of it will do. (I have lived here for 2 years and will never leave).

I went to Tasmania for the first time last year. Nov/Dec...a magnificent place...beyond all expectations. We had a 3 week self drive holiday, just marvellous. We're going again in 2 weeks, just for a week to do the north coast which we missed last year. It's so different from the mainland.....
