Aye in a perfect world that would happen, but i generally find that the people who actually care about these issues and would do something about it find out what is going on and try to raise the profile of the crisis.
You generally find that the media doesnt stop reporting the issus they just become harder to find, eg 3 pages in rather than on the front page.
Like everything else in this world the media is driven by money and everything has a shelf life, once it gets out dated then they dont sell papers and dont make money.
Another point to note is that there is so much going on in the world both nationally and worldwide that there is not enough column inches or air time to report everything that is going on.
you mentioned Rowanda, as far as i know Clinton chose to ignore what was going on there and effectively turn the worlds attension away from it. Maybe your beef should be with the politicians rather than the media? BTW Clinton said that not going into Rowanda was one of his biggest regrets |  | |

The mainstream is that they dont wanna see people murdered and starving when they are eating thier dinner, they would rather hear about what minor celebs are doing to make a twat of themselves. The answer is simple. Switch off mainstream media. Dont buy crappy newspapers and magazines.
