How do you know if you make something it can be called a Craft? or Art?

For me a craft is something you do to occupy your time. Cross stitching using a kit would be an example of a craft.

Art is something you create because you need to and it ususally conveys emotion or captures a moment in time.

Craft: "Ah cute."
Art: "Wow! *stands there looking at it for a while* That is deep, man."

Start with several somethings that don't look like or function like the one something you want or imagine. Use imagination, nails, screws, weaving, knitting, whittling,glue, and some of those little wooden things you get at the store to put 'em all into one something. Hopefully it will be the something you planned. If not, lie about it, and say it came out just like you wanted! That's crafts!
Opposable thumbs and stereoscopic color vision! Ain't it WONDERFUL?
