I'm totally against it, but I'm only ok with it with rats. Rats, because they can reproduce literally thousands/millions within one year. Anyother animal...no.

Silly logic. So can rabbits, mice, gerbils, guinea pigs, etc. Most rodents. If you have enough animals, you can always reproduce that much - even with dogs. What you said there defeats the ENTIRE PURPOSE of being against animal testing in the first place.

And I don't see how relevant breeding patterns are to the morality of animal testing. It isn't - because we take into consideration the welfare of the animal. In fact, I found this a little offensive to be honest. Rats make up the bulk of animal testing, rats and mice in particular account for 80% of all animals tested. You are essentially not considering the majority of animals that are experimented on.

Yet you are somehow "totally against" animal testing. You can't just say that and simply not include an animal like that. It's wrong.

And I'm very surprised this wasn't picked out earlier, because it smells like a double standard to me. You're either for animal testing (and you are, because you agree with the testing on rats) or NOT AT ALL (against testing on ALL animals).

They don't use rabid animals unless they're testing for a rabies vaccination or cure.

I think personally, that animal testing is wrong. Animals are not our playthings and we shouldn't be able to test anything on them. Here, let's play this situation: let's say aliens invaded Earth, and wanted to use humans as research subjects. They're much more powerful than us and we really don't have a choice: do you think it's right for them to be able to play God and test their medicines on us? They wouldn't care about us because we're different from them, and they would see us as lesser beings.

Just because animals can't talk doesn't mean they don't feel pain, and doesn't mean they don't think and aren't conscious. I know it's undeniable what animal testing does for people, but for some unexplainable reason I still think it's wrong, even if it would save my own life. On the other hand, I can totally see how people can be for it, because it does in fact save lives.

I love this, gives you something to think about doesn't it? Just because animals cann't object doesn't mean we have the right to abuse them. In the Bible it tells us to be the CARE TAKERS of animals. I personnally don't think we are doing that very well.
