can any one tell help in tis pliz...
my dvd in the computer can not read my cd's wats, the light is on but the dvd still cannot read the cd's....ive also open the system unit and plug the dvd cables tight but the dvd is still not reading the cd's..can anybody help me

Ok you are saying cds.So I must ask are you referring to the DVD discs, or regular cds.Because unless it is specified that the DVD drive can handle regular cds, or even rewritable,writable cds it can not handle them and therefore will not read them.

Also check your drive on the computer and see in "My computer" if it recognizes there is even a disc in there.If not then more than likely the drive will not read the cd for some reason.I hope that helps you

Could you be a little more specific?

What model DVD-R is it?
What Operating system are you using?
What kind of CD are you trying to access?
Do you have administrative rights on that PC?

I will say "put in another cd if it detect it that means the cd rom is not good but if it doesn't that means you will change the DVD drive
