Speaking as an Irish person and this is not directed at anyone in particular, and sorry if I offend, but its not meant to cause offence. Its just how you come acrosss t some people

Americans can be very loud.
Americans want to claim some long lost ancestor was Irish.
Americans (older adults) wear checked trousers(pants).
Americans sense of humour is strange?
Americans give the impression that the world owes them something.

That would be as bad as me saying you are Irish so you are a drunk. I have never seen checkered trousers on anyone that wasn't playing golf. As far as paople owing us, I am not sure what that is about.

The thread was opened by an American asking for an honest opinion of the USA.

Molly is giving it as she sees it.

The Americans we see in Ireland are loud mouths.
They all seem to be looking for their Irish roots.
The place is wall to wall in polyester checked clothing.
Their sense of humour makes the Germans look gargarious.

On the point of the Americans think the world owes them something. Cinnamin you commented tonight about all the help the Americans give every other country. Maybe that's what Molly was referring to. Ireland may help others but we don't bum and blow about it.Molly's comments were clearly not directed to any individual and were not meant to be offensive. JUST TRUE.

No body is asking for your opinion of the Irish or any other nationality.

There was no need for you to make a personal comment about Molly.
