two of the greatest spy thriller tv shows of all time was by created the same team. both tv shows inspirated a movie, ' la femme nikita '.

la femme nikita ( 1997-2001 )

In the original Luc Besson film (and in the American remake Point of No Return, also released by Warner Bros.), Nikita is a drug-addicted juvenile delinquent who was accused of killing a police officer in cold blood during an attempted robbery of a pharmacy. She is later arrested and sentenced to death by lethal injection, upon which she was secretly drugged by the government, faking her death. Nikita is then "recruited" by a secret government organization and transformed into a highly skilled assassin who cannot be traced.

The television series differs from the film versions in one fundamental aspect: Nikita (Peta Wilson) is innocent. She is not a killer, nor a drug user, just a homeless young woman in the wrong place at the wrong time. Section One—an elite, top-secret counter-terrorism organization—sets Nikita up to be accused of murdering a police officer and sentenced to life in prison where she supposedly commits suicide and is brought into Section One. Because Nikita will be killed (or "cancelled" ) if she fails to comply, she is forced to carry out the organization's ruthless methods of fighting terrorism, while attempting to keep her moral integrity intact. This personal struggle becomes the primary conflict of the series. A key scene in the two theatrical films involves Nikita's first assignment—to murder a VIP in a crowded restaurant. Although the Nikita of the television series eventually does become, by necessity, a ruthless killer, in the television version of this first mission she uses her ingenuity to avoid having to kill the VIP (whereas the film versions of the character complete the assignment). However, despite the machinations of others in power around her, Nikita retains her compassion and humanity.

Over time, Nikita's secretive and risky romantic involvement with her trainer, the mysterious Michael Samuelle (Roy Dupuis), will become another source of conflict, and the series' most significant relationship. Just before the conclusion of the series, Nikita also learns the truth of why she was recruited into Section One.

i was a big fan of this show, it really well on usa network for 5 years. ' alias ' is similar to this show. few months later, when la femme nikita was over, the creators of the show came up with another concept, what if you use ' la femme nikita ' premise, instead another female agent, use a man agent. the concept they had for the tv show, it was gold. this tv show is the long spy / politic tv show of all time. you know this show as simply, ' 24 '.

24 ( 2001-2010 )

24 is a serial drama which stars Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, focusing on the efforts of the fictional Counter Terrorist Unit, and their efforts to protect America from terrorism plots. Each episode typically follows Bauer, officials in the U.S. government, and the conspirators behind the events of the day, often simultaneously. The episodes take place over the course of one hour, depicting events as they happen, in real time.[8] To emphasize the real-world flow of events, a clock is prominently displayed on-screen during the show, and there is a regular use of split screens, a technique used to depict multiple scenes occurring at the same time.

mike post is the greatest tv theme song's composer of all time.

Mike Post was born in San Fernando, California. He became a musician for acts as varied as Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Kenny Rogers, Sonny Bono and Cher, playing guitar on the latter team's 1965 hit "I Got You, Babe". Two years later, Post won his first Grammy award for producing and arranging the Mason Williams track "Classical Gas". Post's television career commenced when he was appointed musical director of The Andy Williams Show (1969), at the youthful age of 24. A later assignment, the cop show Toma (1973) introduced Post to producer Stephen J. Cannell, who hired him for the classic The Rockford Files (1974). The memorable theme became Post's first, but far from last, television instrumental to become a crossover radio hit, and earned him a Grammy. Often in collaboration with Pete Carpenter, Post has scored well over two thousand hours of both dramatic and comedic TV, most famously on Hill Street Blues (1981), NYPD Blue (1993) and his first Emmy winner, Murder One (1995).

sanford & sons

sanford & son was created by norman lear . norman later created " all in the family " . today, if you can see it this show. it is still funny, when it air in 70's. fred sanford is black version of " archie bunker " in his own way.

Redd Foxx played Fred Sanford, portraying him as a sarcastic, streetwise, irascible schemer whose frequent get-rich-quick ideas routinely backfired. His son Lamont longs for independence, but loves his father too much to move out and leave the trouble-prone Fred unsupervised. Though each owns an equal share in the business (technically Fred is the boss), Lamont often finds himself doing all the work and demanding his father complete tasks and duties. Fred often insults his son, usually calling him "dummy". Lamont returns the favor, referring to Fred as an "old fool." Despite their disagreements, the two share a close bond and regularly come to each other's aid. An episode in the second season featured a plot in which Fred and Lamont had a heated argument over the business; Lamont quit and went to work for one of his father's business competitors. Meanwhile, Fred filled Lamont's position with a slacker who squandered Fred's money on a worthless item. When Lamont quits his new job and Fred fires the slacker, the two decide to reform their partnership, though each is too proud to admit they could not make it without the other.

house of cards - i start watching the seasons from dvds of the show. kevin spacey is brilliant. this a great tv show, it has normal manipulation, you would see a political movie adaption into a tv show. a man with power will do anything to keep it, even murder.

house of cards ( 2013-present )

Set in present-day Washington, D.C., House of Cards is the story of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), a Democrat from South Carolina's 5th congressional district and House Majority Whip who, after being passed over for appointment as Secretary of State, initiates an elaborate plan to get himself into a position of greater power, aided by his wife, Claire Underwood (Robin Wright). The series deals primarily with themes of ruthless pragmatism,[10] manipulation, and power.

A series that aired on retro TV here not long ago had a very haunting, bleak theme which was a perfect intro for the drama.

"Callan" originally screened in the 1970's. Edward Woodward played the part of the eponymous British MI6 operative playing very well scripted, tense, taut cat and mouse games with his cold war opponents. Excellent dialogue and brilliant acting even if the sets were cheap and cheesy. That just added to the claustrophobic feel of dark deeds done in the shadows.

A "Killer With A Conscience" Callan hated what he did. He wasn't motivated by patriotism, or Queen and Country or any other self-justification. He did it because it was the only thing he could do. His superiors treated him as a risk who they only tolerated because he was the best they had.

The Cold War in all its grim, dark, ruthlessness. The theme tune leaves you in no doubt about what you're about to watch.

@HarajukuGoober Said

I'm not a big fan of the show(it's well-written, just too gross for me), but I really like the Walking Dead theme song

actually, many ways, that this tv show (the pioneer ) is inspirited by tv shows like the x-files , buffy , the vampire slayer, and supernatural. it was for the night stalker, probably there is a small change that tv would have took a change with walking dead.
