Nixon was the evil Democratic president who created the EPA to help protect the environment and control pollution....

...oh....wait...he was actually a Republican....

...but not a 21st Century Republican.... they want to get rid of the EPA so they can mine for fossil fuels in our park lands.... and off the coasts of Florida.

Yes, Nixon, a Democrat, and Clinton, a Republican, is the common sarcasm around here.

So, who was the most hated president?

Probably Lincoln, for the Civil War

Or Van Buren, Cleveland, or Hoover for causing a depression.

Or Wilson for the Great War?

Or Truman, for I don't know, but he was so unpopular; he went alone to the train station after Eisenhower's inauguration.

By sheer numbers - I'd say Trump. There are a lot more people in the world to hate him now than back in the 1800's / 1950's ...etc
And a lot more people across the world know About him because of the internet and his tweets.

... But of course The Donald will argue that.

Probably Lincoln. He's still hated by many in the South even today.

Trump isn't far behind though. Nixon, close to the end of his presidency. Ditto with LBJ. Obama and Reagan as well, pretty much throughout their presidencies, although Reagan became more popular his second term.

Others, I have no idea really other than poll numbers, as I wasn't around.
