Emmanuel Macron, the 39 year-old former banker, has won the country's first-round vote. Le Pen looks set to finish second. That will mean that neither of the country's major parties will be represented in next month's run-off vote.

Sadly, we in the US can only ever dream of a result in our election, the way our system enables a two party dominance.

I wonder how many will be voting FOR the candidate they like, versus voting AGAINST the candidate they don't.

No great surprise that Macron easily won the 2nd round of the French Presidential elections. Macron (who has never held a seat in public office) becomes France’s youngest head of state since Napoleon.

While our asshat in chief, without any political experience, is the oldest president to assume the office.

With any luck, he won't make it to Oldest President In Office. (He would need to be re-elected)

I don't see it happening. Most conservatives I know are not fans of his and obviously none of the liberals I know are. Then again, I was amazed that he even got the nomination so there's that.

Trump is a horrible human being who doesn't give a s*** about the constitution and hopefully the next few years will bear that out enough to keep him out of a second term.
