All credit to Handscomb and Marsh. Collectively they batted for some 66 overs and helped Australia draw the 3rd test. This is the first time a visiting team has batted out a draw after trailing in the first innings in India since 2010-11.

I see the ECB are again spruiking the idea of 4 day tests. Even more bizarrely they are saying that not all tests would be 4 days, that some would remain 5! WTF.

Good to see some fight in the Aussie middle order especially from Handscomb. Reckon this series will be the making of Renshaw and Handscomb, on a side note where would the Marsh/Handscomb innings rate in Aussie cricket histroy if we kick on to win the series?

Another issue that really needs to be addressed is Warner's away record. career ave f 47 but drops to 35 away and out of is 18 Test hundreds only 4 have come outside Australia...3 of those in South Africa which is probably the most similar wickets in the world to ours. He is now the most experienced batsmen in the side yet time and time again in big away series he fails.

After so many batting collapses it was good to finally see some fight. As you say, if we were able to go on and win the series that partnership will grow in importance.

Re Warner. I agree his record on the sub continent, NZ, The Windies and in England is poor. He needs to sort that out. Not as if there are blokes knocking on the door demanding to take his place.

Another middle order collapse and a first failure for Renshaw has Australia under the pump.

The 4th test is very evenly placed. If anything india have a slight edge. Good effort by Lyon.

Sow now after Yadav's debut we're offended by his bowling being called Chinaman.

I missed that memo! Forgot to be offended by the use of the word 'chinaman'.

Apparently we need to get “racially offensive terminology out of the game”! So I guess while we are at it we need to remove the term "French cut". Surely that is more offensive term than a "chinaman".

Now how long before the feminazis resume their campaign to ban words like "maiden", "third man", "batsman" etc etc etc.

I can see some exciting pc cricket commentary ahead.

"India's left arm wrist spinner has been bowling a very tight length and the batspersiblings are finding it hard to put him away. In he comes, well flighted and the batspersibling get's an inside edge that runs down to third persibling and there's no run. That's another over in which the left arm wrist spinner has conceded no runs!"

Warner has averaged 24.12 in this series.

Which would exceed his away from home average wouldn't it? I think he has done ok in Sth Africa, but on low, slow, swinging or spinning wickets outside Australia he has not done so good.

South Africa he has 3 hundreds...only other country he has a ton away from home is the UAE.

A decent series from Warner and Australia win's this series.
