I've just lost my court case with a well known fabric softener.

I fought Lenor and Lenor won.

I'm guessing "I fought the law and the law won"?

Yeah, I thought of that, but just couldn't make it "click" ... unless that was used as a jingle for a popular fabric softener commercial...?

Sorry to deconstruct your joke Jen

i look up the word " lenor ".

Lenor is a brand name of fabric softener and dryer sheets, also produced by Procter & Gamble, sold in Europe, Russia, China and Japan. Plans to rebrand Lenor as Downy in the UK were dropped in 2002.

maybe she being " procter & gamble ", which is well-known in america for long time.

" downy " and " snowy " , most well-known and oldest and famous fabric liquid softers in america, before dryer sheets.

i don't get the joke, either.

My oops.

Too "local" it would appear. Everybody on the UK sites I posted it on got a laugh out of it.

It appears you don't have Lenor over your side of the pond.

I shall try to be a bit more "global" in future.

On the rare occasions that I wash my socks, I like the feel of socks with fabric softener in them. Especially when they're right out of the dryer!

It's the only time when my feet smell 'somewhat' pleasant.
