I think so. I think if you do it too often it may cause your electric bill to rise.

No, you're right. Most TVs have a 'sleep' mode that conserves power by automatically turning off the TV at a certain time.

There is/was a debate like that about stereos.
Does turning on and off - the heating and cooling of electronics - cause more wear on the system than just leaving it on all the time?

Of course, nowadays, most electronics are vampires constantly sucking energy and are always charged up.

My bet is it, or pixels would burn out sooner -

Other components are likely to blow before that...

If you've got a Samsung, perhaps the CIA might call you up and tell you to turn it off.

It won't make any difference to them. They can spy on you with it on or off.
