It's a little more complicated in Audacity, as you have to load the wav file then export it and stuff. It's not really built for conversion but it gets the job done if you already have it. CDex and Winamp have a dedicated conversion function.

Dont forget Open Office.

You're so easily confused.... Open Office is a suite of programs, just like MS Office. Your pictures compare Writer to Word, not Open Office to Word.

Foxit Reader is a very good program to use for reading PDFs, too. Actually for some, it does better than Adobe Reader, which can't identify the structure of certain documents well enough to read them aloud using the text to speech narrator. Revo Uninstaller Pro and Internet Download Manager are also useful apps. I've installed most of my programs over the last two years with the later and the former to downloaded everything I've wanted. I recommend all three of these programs.
