It may be useful to feature this as there seems to be a number of people who haven't seen it yet.

Hear, hear!

Or is it here, here!?

Either way, I agree. Please and thank you.

Here someone_else_again, this is what Wikipedia says about it. I can't help but look up trivia. Origins of words and phrases fasinates me.

Hear, hear

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hear, hear is an expression used as a short, repeated form of hear him, hear him. It represents a listener's agreement with the point being made by a speaker. In recent usage it has often been re-analysed as here, here, although this is non-standard.[1]

It was originally an imperative for directing attention to speakers, and has since been used, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, as "the regular form of cheering in the House of Commons", with many purposes, depending on the intonation of its user.[2] Its use in Parliament is linked to the fact that applause is normally (though not always) forbidden in the chambers of the House of Commons and House of Lords.[3]

The phrase hear him, hear him! was used in Parliament from late in the 17th century, and was reduced to hear! or hear, hear! by the late 18th century. The verb hear had earlier been used in the King James Bible as a command for others to listen.[2]

when you make a thread, rather than just post a link and a couple of words can you maybe say something about the story or paste one or two paragraphs (not the whole story) about it so we have a rough idea what its about and what your opinion is.

Also if you just post a youtube video can you give some sort of narrative as to what its about? Not everyone can watch youtube and some of us are deaf so if you want feedback it would be helpful to get the gist of it in text too.

I feel this would probably stimulate people to click those links and bother reading or watching it.

Cheers!

Ah jeepers, thenz how'm I sposed' ta Rick Roll everyone with abortion porn?

So no more periods to circumvent the 'One word topic' lock?

The only reason that I post YouTubes with no captions is that it's dramatically (comedy wise) more affective to just view the videos after reading the thread title.

But in recognition of hearing disabled I will start providing captions. =)

I always thought "here here" as in "I agree with you here" but it could be "hear here" as in "I hear you" i have no idea

It sounds (pun intended) as you want to "hear here" The English language is strange that way. "See the sea", "But your butt..." "Leave the leaves" on and on there are phrases like those. Be the bee. To, too, two... I gotta go now

I'm probably not one to comment on this, but I gotta agree. Same goes with those that post a single image and nothing else.

It makes the thread less credible, with a pic/gif, link and zero context

Like why should anyone feel safe clicking on a random link without knowing where it came from

Same should be done for videos. Maybe even more so since some readers are unable to view them for a variety of reasons.
