A guy wrote his on his page. I want to know what you think about it:

"I went to this class today. I don't know if I should get into it, it might be classified. That's not what this is about. This about me working on becoming a better writer. Uh oh. Liberation of mind. Crazy s*** like that.

I saw a girl today. She's far out. Dumb to be frank. Not dumb in the sense that she can't think, but in the sense of what she thinks about. It's funny how when you think someone is dumb just because they the see the world the way you see it. To me that's what this is about.

I might as well be half ignorant. She was talking about controlling people through body language and non-verbal communication. I totally believe that's its possible. I took a course on it in college. Nothing to in depth, but enough to read a zany book call, "How to Win Friends and Influence People."

She was saying how she could look at a person a certain way, and they wouldn't "f*** with her." Ooh, I was so scared. Honestly, I was. Like how the f*** did this chick qualify for the same job as I did in the military. Whatever. It didn't stop there. She got into another discussion about how she could- and knew people, that she could sub-conscientiously seduce humans into doing whatever it is that she wanted them to do. This crap was over my head, and it pissed me off.

I'm thinking to myself, "Why is this crazy chick telling me this crap. I will do the exact opposite of everything she says for the rest of her life just to make a a** of this retarded theory. It's bogus." I don't know. If crap like that goes down, and we don't even know about it, that's pretty shady. Besides, you got to be a lazy S.O.B. to want to control people. I believe if you want something done right, then do it yourself."

sounds to me the guy is too worried about what the girl is doing and instead should be worrying about his own work/job.

Some people are egomaniacal freaks. They like to think they have all this control over other people because it makes them feel big and powerful. When someone wants to see a specific result, they will usually see it, and it becomes self-fulfilling, but only in their own mind. She likely twisted people's reactions in her mind to convince herself that she had manipulated them. because that's what she wanted to believe. And from the sounds of it, she wanted to believe it desperately.

I think the guy writing about her sounds a bit more off his rocker than the woman does though.

I'm pretty open minded to new things. This guy has to be closed minded in order to develop such anger over something like this. But he did agree to it, then disagreed, but at the same time he called himself ignorant...hmmmmm.

As far as the girl, she should've just kept it to herself. Not something to talk about in a class that is not relative. But I would like to get into it, just because I don't know too much about it. I'm sure there are studies and statistics.

If this girl had the ability to control people through non verbal communication, could make them do whatever she wanted etc she would be in the employ of the C.I.A. and therefore unable to speak out about it....she's a fantasist...and the guy who wrote about it is a little bit cwazzzzzzy......

A person can indeed illicit certain responses or keep certain responses at bay through their own body language. People use body language everyday and others do respond to it. In fact, it's long been said that body language conveys far more than any other form of communication.

1. This woman was clearly trying to F___ with this guy, and it worked. When she walked away from the conversation she probably pumped her fist and said "PSYCH!!".

2. The guy seems to be a bit of a noodle. Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" is hardly a "zaney" book.

Very true. Often, when people quickly come to a judgement of a person, be it positive or negative, it's because of the person's body language. We don't think about it much, probably because it's noticed so quickly by our brains and is practically instinctual, but something as simple as the way a person's body is positioned when standing or sitting can affect us.

It may seem insane to think that a person can greatly influence another using nothing more than their pose or demeanor, but it may seem crazy to think that a musician can get a large group of people to basically do whatever he wants, simply by singing and dancing wildly, and that is very possible.
