Joan Miro' (zu'an Miro')

Earning international acclaim, his work has been interpreted as Surrealism, a sandbox for the subconscious mind, a re creation of the childlike, and a manifestation of Catalan pride. Miro' expressed contempt for contemporary painting methods as a way of supporting bourgeoisie society and famously declared an " assassination of painting" in favor of upsetting the visual elements of established painting.
I have been posting some of my mother's favorite artists in memory of her. She was an artist and an art teacher. We traveled the world over to more museums than I can remember. Miro' was born in Barcelona, Spain where I have family and he died in Mallorca, Spain where I also have family. Obviously, I was able to see his work up close. I'm not a huge fan, but in person, the colors are magnificent. He died in 1983 at the age of 90.

My favorite is the 4th one down. It appeals to me for some reason...

I've seen this artists work quite a few times in MD and PA. Good use of color, your right.
