you just take a lot of pictures... eventually you just develop sort of an eye for it... you can just look around and see what would make a great shot...

With lots of practice. I take pics of old cars when I go on vacation. It is a pain when people stand in in the f***ing way when your trying to take a pic.

Some people have a good eye and it comes naturally. My mother in law could take fab pics with throw away cameras. You could give my aunt the world's best camera, she was terrible. A decent camera is a good idea and lots of practice. I like the digital because I don't waste film, so it's good for practice. My best pics still come from my 35 mm, but it usually doesn't matter. Practice, practice, practice.

Got to agree with that, but learning the basics first really does help a lot more
