Sexual innuendo at work can be ok as long as it is obviuosly jocular and said in a general sense amongst a group and not directed at a specific individual. for example, if you shout across the office to the new temp and tell her to get her tits out for the lads there's a pretty good chance she'll take a bit of umbrage at that.

Im interested in that one guy/woman, the one who just does not seem to pull off flirting and just comes across as desperate.

Arent people worried that they might be that person?

When I first started working (I was 16) I was a horrible flirt. But, I always pulled it off....

Huh, all I ever got from the women I worked with was a cup of tea and a biscuit.

there's a big difference between harmless flirting and actually shagging someone you work with!

Flirting at work can cause more problems than you obviously realise, and I did NOT relate the two things.
whatever
I saw a hotel get shut down for a week, all because a silly little girl thought flirting was harmless, and indulged herself, extreme case, yes, but there would be many tales of hassles caused by flirting, ask the people around you.

We had a man who was fired for exposing his penis right on
the assembly line where we make the widgets. It has only happened once though.

He showed his widget among the widgets?

Im just listening to a debate about this on the Radio.

Is it something you dare partake in?

Do you ever say something to a work colleague and they laugh politely and then later on find out they told another colleague they were secretly offended?

Is it best to just remain entirely professional at work?

Have you felt sexually harrassed at work?

Do you ever worry you are maybe coming accross as a desperate perv?

No I think its extremely inappropriate at the workplace...and can lead to other things. You don't know how someone will feel even if you think its harmless, some may have cultural differences, it just doesn't belong in the workplace. That's the constant joking around, harmlessly flirting bit. Now if you're legitimately interested and ask a co-worker out that's a different story.

I've never been sexually harassed at work, but I have had co-workers actually do have co-workers that flirt with me because they are interested. It just makes everything so much more uncomfortable and complicated.

One guy flirts with me often, and while I brush it off, trying not to be rude its gets uncomfortable when you're in an environment with your peers.

In fact the first week I started working where I work, i actually got hit on by another co-worker. My first week..and while we could both have been interested in each other, how would it look if in my first week I already have hooked up with someone?

To be honest, I don't treat it any different from non working situations.

I take the time to get to know the people, and wait till they understand my sense of humour. And if they don't, well it would just be a waste of time and effort to pursue the situation any further and I will shun them, and completely destroy their soul.

But other than that, I've never had any problems or complaints.

I remember flirting with co-workers all the time at my college jobs.

My current job, in the military...hell no do i flirt or make jokes or anything. I had a friend lose rank because he sent an email out with a joke and a supervisor saw it and thought it was sexual harrassment (the supervisor was a dude).

I work in a bar where from day one my boss has made it clear he wants to sleep with me. I have also made it very clear that that will never happen. He turns everything I say into a dirty joke and being in front of patrons of the same mind I would look like a wet blanket to not just call him a pig or something. Why do I put up with it? $$$$$ Rent, Bills bla bla bla
