In my dream I was in one of my current favourite places - the National Art Gallery in Edinburgh. I didn't realise how much I was into this stuff until I went there. So in my dream I was in a hurry. I had to find this one specific painting, Girl with a Pearl Earring and I just couldn't. It got weird. I kept getting distracted. I met one of my best male friends and dragged him to my favourite room - the little octagonal one with paintings of the seven sacraments on the walls - but there were two catholic priests in there who laughingly questioned as about why we were so eager to get there and then left. Then I met my sister and was giving her advice on her university applications and then we both met an archaeologist who needed her help and promised to help me in return, but didn't because what he was doing was taking so long. All of this was against a mounting sense of loss. I couldn't help it. There was no rational reason to panic but I was so panicky. Even when I woke up I felt as though I was losing something important.

All of Vermeer's paintings are exquisite,that one is especially so!
