Maybe I won't buy the Kindle after all if those of you who have one don't really like it.

It just seems so cold. I love the smell and feel of old books and new ones are just as good but less smelly. Anyway, I love having bookcases scattered about the house. Anyway, as I said before, I couldn't take a Kindle in the bath. And I like pictures.

I like the smell of the paper and ink but when I'm buying a used book, I take a whiff of it to see if it smells musty, dusty, smoky, and if it has a strong smell of perfume, I won't buy it. Is that strange? I always check to see if anyone is looking before I sniff it. It probably seems a bit OCDish.

I've been selling secondhand books for so long that I've become addicted to the smell and feel of old paper. Really old books also have old typefaces and illustrations that you don't find now. I also like the fact that so many people have owned a book from, say, the 18th or 19th centuries. Bits of history that I can read.

I'm interested in your selection. What are you selling now? My favorites are thrillers and some horror. I'd like to know of some new authors from the UK. Any suggestions would be great.

I'll have a look through my mental booklist and give you a pm about books I've enjoyed recently. Usually I sell modern first editions and antiquarian stuff, not necessarily things I'd read myself, just books I know are collected.

Do you sell on Amazon or Ebay? A PM would be nice. I saw you mentioned Sophie Hannah on someone's profile. I Googled her and some of her books might interest me. My local library has her latest one in hardback. I can't remember the title off the top of my head.
