Wait, won't canned air cause a static electric build-up, like a vacuum cleaner does? If it does, it could fry your laptop. Is canned air designed for fixing electronics?

That stuff is static free.

Laptops aren't electronic?

Erm... is that a question or a statement? They are electronic, aren't they?

I think I misunderstood your post.

Anyway, canned air is just fine for laptops.

Some of the laptops with a fast processor run hot.
If it has always been running hot, try putting it on an upside down metal baking dish.
You want to keep it cool or it won’t last long.

it's deffo fan problem. Get someone you know who can open it up and have a look at the fan

get it sorted through, overheating laptop can damage other systems & give u bigger problem or a large repair bill

I was looking after a big pc once, and it kept overheating and burnin' me, so what i did was i took the side off and put one of those proper fans used 2 cool down ppl in a room, pointed it towards it and turned it on LOL

noisy but effective.. however i don't see how u can do that to a laptop so it was actually a quite pointless story... anyways yeh, u just wasted your time reading all the waffle

same thing happened with me. I bought a lap desk for my laptop and my laptop its constantly on that ..it doesn't get hot anymore, at least not to the point where I would be worried. Sometimes it does but I usually turn the comp of and let it cool off or lift it off everything and let the bottom cool.

may need to buy the can of air and just spritz the vents at the bottom to unclog the dust as well as the dust in your keyboard. But that should do it.

Lap desk would be the best investment.

They are but a lot cheaper than a new laptop if it overheats. You could have a look on ebay, I think my friends was a bit cheaper than that.

My lap desk only cost about $40 dollars...its without fan attached but it works great.

Edit: HP 6735s

I don't have any other problems at all with it, apart from the overheating.

Strange, coz me and the hubby both got hp lappys 8 month old now and both overheat. Mine to the point that it actually turns off.

Had them checked and they say they're fine!!
