NO....you learn to read......check post #75......you are the one that wrote it.....and you are the one that said what you said.....making your post and opinions of people who were born and live in the ghettos, crack smoking losers.....those are YOUR words dear, NOT mine!!!

Here's the post.

Social mobility? Give me a break. It's amazing the excuses people invent for their failures. If you're born in the ghetto then attend school, get good grades instead of smoking crack on the street corner. Then you'll either get a scholarship or student loan for college. People need to learn to take some responsibility for their lives instead of sitting around blaming everybody else for their problems.

Now go take some damn reading comprehension classes.

Oh looks like we've almost reached the end of discussion with this thread. We've covered it all, uh huh. I found this while browsing:

Letting Go!

To let go doesn't mean to stop caring, it means "I can't do it for someone else".
To let go is not to cut myself off, it's the realization that I don't 'control' another.
To let go is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is NOT to try and change or even blame another, it's knowing I can only change myself.
To let go is not to 'care for', but to care about.
To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge! - but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to affect their own outcomes.
To let go is not to 'deny', but to accept.
To let go is NOT to nag, or scold, or argue ... but to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires, but to take each day as it comes and to cherish the moment.
To let go is NOT to criticize or regulate another, but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is NOT to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.
To let go is to fear less ... and love more.

I have to respectfully disagree. Education is one of the best ways to secure a good future, and unfortunately a lot of ethnic minorities do not have the money to make education a priority. Or even a possibility.

As for the original poster. . . It's not the government's fault. The government can only do so much. It's society that needs to change and start valuing all races as equal.

After all that "pull yourselves up by your own bootstraps" back patting giving everyone sore arms- we finally get a post that has more truth than any of the previous. Kudos.

You don't need money to get a college education. It's called working your a** off and get a scholarship/student loans. I'm a monority (or atleast half anyways) and I'm still in HS. Wanna know what I see when I go to school? I see the minoirities not putting their best foot forward, I see/hear them b**** and moan about not being able to go to college because they can't afford it. I'm brok as s***, but I work my a** off in school to maintain a high GPA and good grades.

The reason there are minorities is because some people slack off more than others. Simple as that. They've been told they'll be nothing all their lives so they'll spend their lives doing nothing.

Great for you. Good for you. But that is not really going to work for everyone is it! Not everyone can go to college. Not everyone can pull out of the slums and ghetos, and stagnant dying rural towns. Generalizing this is very dangerous IMHO.

Oh please. They start it in the first place so yes they are losers. Nobody makes them put the crack pipe in their mouth.

Societal ills are born of the poor from the demands of the rich. In a sense we all contribute to putting the dispair and hopelessness there that makes them put that crack pipe in their mouths.

lol, too many cliches on my mind - just want to say:
No man is an island onto himself, so in a way we all 'do'
impact on the success or failure of others - and of ourselves too, of course.

By all means don't trust learned doctors.
How's your do-it-your-self appendectomy coming along?
