Its seems to me at the moment that things do seem to be quite positive out there right now which is great!

I keep seeing positive news about growth and profit which are great for general moral right now!

Today I read an article on the BBC that said banks are showing the first signs of recovery too! Seeing as it was the banks that caused all of this, should this be seen as a good thing? Could the rest of the market follow..... This could be great news for job creation Lets hope there is some good in this news! What do you guys think?

Jobs will lag the recovery by 6 months..

I must say, I too cling to positive news flashes from the media. I just don't know if I can always trust what they say. However, I have noticed less extreme BAD news.
I would like to believe recovery is in progress and that it will be seen and felt by next March.
It will be fab! I'm desperate for the poor car salesman and manufacturing industry to pick up. Who do you think suffers most at the moment?

I guess you have a very good point there Mark and it is something that I had not considered!

If I am totally honest I am like Jeanne and prefer to cling to the more positive news that I see in the media at the moment! I perhaps believe too much in this and hope that some howe it will help things return to normal much quicker - you are however much more sensible about this!

As for what industries I think are worse effected - I this is really hard to pin point as the ripple effect is felt everywhere from retail, manufacturing , to recruitment! Its hard right now!

The economy will never recover. This whole thing was engineered to lower wages and benefits to third world levels. That's the dirty little secret behind globalization. The economy never truly recovered from the 1980 recession. Jobless Recovery is an oxymoron the wealthy use that really amounts to "I'm all right Jack". Better get used to Chinese wages.

What pisses me off about the whole "crash" is that the savers and getting screwed over. Low interest rates and the GBP being worth diddly squat.

the BOE and govermentment have ensures the country comes crashing down. In the mean time, us hard working, saving types are loose our value on paper. It's complete B*llsh*t!

Who has seen this news today?

I read on the BBC that Lloyds and RBS are to sell about 900 branches between them over the next four years! These sales have been demanded by the European commission! Although I guess its good for them as they probably need to downsize in order to become stronger again what about all of the employees? Wnough people have already lost their finance jobs through this group – will there be many more or will the branches be sold to other banks that may wish to enter the UK market?

Its all rather confusing isn’t it?

Oh and Wo0Ho0 they have agreed to defer cash bonuses to staff who earn over 39k until 2012 – I think this is a good move as well! Right now they need to get themselves back together and regain their strength! Its all gone a bit crazy right now!

Things may be settling out right now, but the jobs will be slower to come back. My cousins bank was taken over, but she kept her job, well at least for now. The bank that bought them has a branch literally right across the street.
